what is fit x heidi?

I have a passion for nutrition and fitness, but I realize that not everyone shares that sentiment. I know that there are so many emotions attached to food, working out and most of all, body image and the way we see ourselves. My goal with this program is to help alleviate some of the anxiety or lack of confidence that you may feel around working out and nutrition, but most importantly the way you see yourself. Oh and to make it FUN! Through NEW workouts every week and weekly devotionals, this program will transform you- both inside and out. And transformation that comes from the inside is what will help you to find freedom from your insecurities, feel confident in who God is and how He made you, and experience life-lasting change.

 
 
 

what to expect:

NEW workouts every week!
They’ll challenge you (otherwise, what’s the point?!), but it’s nothing you can’t handle. And the variety makes it fun!! We work split muscle groups four days a week with one full body workout. We do circuit training and the workouts are rooted in strength training with cardio or strategic bursts of HIIT interspersed. This is an effective combo to help with The workouts are designed to help you to build lean, beautiful muscles! There are always modifications for every exercise. Our mentality in FXH is that done is better than perfect. If you need to modify, do it!

Healthy recipes that you’ll actually crave.
You’ll have access to healthy recipes in our private Facebook group-- I’m a firm believer that healthy food does not have to be boring or bland. With a few simple swaps and a little education, you can have things you enjoy and fulfill nutritional needs. I share a mix of paleo/Whole 30 approved recipes and macro-friendly meals. 

Community, because who wants to do this alone?
You’ll build community-- we’re doing the same workouts, the same devotionals and there’s something powerful about knowing that other people are doing the same thing. We’re experiencing similar struggles and this is a safe place to share those, too. 

You’ll learn to feel secure in who you are and how God made you.
Last but not least, you’ll have access to eight weeks of devotionals that will point you to scripture to help you see yourself the way that Jesus does. So much of the anxiety or lack of confidence you feel around food, fitness and body image stem from having a low view of yourself. But God does not feel that way about you. He has a HIGH view of you. He holds a high value over your life-- so high that he sent his son to die for you. He made you in His image. He loves and adores you-- even on your worst days or seasons.

what you’ll need:

If you are working out in a gym, most of the equipment you need will be available to you. If not, here’s your at-home equipment recommendations:

  • Variety of dumbbells (I recommend having at least two sets— one heavier, one lighter— to start.)

  • Exercise bands and/or hip circle bands

  • Kettlebell (optional; one single dumbbell can be use as a substitute)

  • Medicine ball (optional, but recommended)

  • Step (optional; you can use an elevated, sturdy surface at home like your stairs)

Hi! I’m Heidi.

I’m a certified personal trainer. As I share the ins and outs of this program, I want to share a little of my story with you. I set out to create an online workout program for women because I was tired of all of the workout classes I was trying (trust me- I’ve tried a TON) and couldn’t find one that gave me results that I loved. While I loved the community experience the classes provided, I either hit a plateau or built a body that I didn’t feel good about. The workouts weren’t geared toward women who wanted to build up certain areas (hello, little peach!), but maintain lean muscle and tone in others (hello, lean legs and toned arms!).

As soon as I decided that I wanted to launch my workout program, I realized there was an important part of my journey that I wanted to share with you— the journey of overcoming insecurities to seeing yourself the way Christ sees you.

I will help you to transform your body and get results through this program. It’s effective and fun! But even more importantly, I want you to experience the heart transformation that I experienced on my journey. I learned the hard way how much your self-perceived worth plays into your health and fitness, and ultimately your results.

That’s why I’ve incorporated devotionals with this program. That’s why there are scripture reading plans in our FIT Together challenges. Because insecurities stem from having a low view of yourself. And that happens when you’re not seeing yourself the way that God sees you- beautiful, made new and made in His image.
